LOCAL AUTHORITY SOCIAL SERVICES ACT 1970

This Act makes further provisions with respect to the organisation, management and administration of local authority social services, to amend the Health Visiting and Social Work (Training) Act 1962.

Section 1 defines local authorities for the purpose of the Act.  Section 2 requires a local authority to establish social services committee.  Sections 3 – 5 apply to committees.  Section 6 sets out the requirements for the director of social services.
