THE COMMUNITY HOMES REGULATIONS 1972

(SI 1972 No. 319)

The Regulations make provision for the conduct of community homes and for securing the welfare of the children in them.

General provisions governing the conduct of community homes are set out under Regulation 3.  Other provisions include details regarding medical care and hygiene (Regulation 5), notification of death, illness or accident (Regulation 6), precautions against fire and accident (Regulation 7), religious observance (Regulation 8) and visits by parents, guardians, relatives and friends (Regulation 9).  Secure accommodation is addressed under Regulation 11.  Regulation 12 imposes an obligation top receive children into secure accommodation.

The Regulation provides further details on directions regarding accommodation of children (Regulation 15) and providing information and records to inspectors (Regulation 16).
