ADOPTION OF CHILDREN ACT 1926

The power to make adoption orders is set out under Section 1.  Section 2 explains the restrictions on making adoption orders.  Section 3 lists the matters which the court must be satisfied before making an adoption order.  Section 4 lists the terms and conditions of the order.  Section 5 states the effect of the adoption order.  Section 6 grants the court power to make interim orders.  Section 7 grants a power to make subsequent order in respect of infant already subject to an order.  Section 8 sets out the jurisdiction and procedure.  Section 9 provides details on the restrictions relating to payments.  Section 11 sets out the requirements relating to the adopted children register.
