Policing and Crime Act 2009

Section 14 introduces a new offence to the Sexual Offences Act 2003 of paying for the sexual services of a prostitute subjected to force.

The Act also amends the Street Offences Act 1959 by amending the definition of the offence of “loitering” and in relation to “soliciting” a new Section is introduced into the 2003 Act.

The provisions for the control of convicted sex offenders in the 2003 Act are also amended.

Section 26 amends Section 53 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2003 (failure to comply with notice relating to encrypted information) in relation to indecent photographs of children.

Section 28 tightens up the Licensing Act 2003 (offence of selling alcohol to children on different occasions).

Section 81 renames the Independent Barring Board to the Independent Safeguarding Authority.

The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 is amended in several sections.
