Statute Law Database

This Database follows on from the Child Abuse Compensation Claims Caselaw Database.

One of the major challenges facing practitioners in this area is to locate and understand the network of statutes and regulations that govern the position of a child or an adult in the public and private care system at any one time. A detailed description of the relevant statutory law can form the basis of a compensation claim. At the same time the basis for that claim can be strengthened by guidance from statutory bodies such as the Home Office and reports.

However this information is often very hard to find. This Database was set up to provide a signpost to that information. Like the Caselaw Database, it has two main purposes:-

  • to provide practitioners with a series of signposts to the relevant statutory and extra statutory information and a brief overview of what is said in each document.
  • to ensure that we know the relevant law in this area and that our clients can rely on our expertise, whether their case originates from the 1970’s or recent years.

There is no charge for using the Database, which is constantly being updated with new information. Malcolm Johnson & Co. invites comments and suggestions from users, who should use the contact box to the right.
