Child Abuse Compensation Claims Caselaw Database

Malcolm Johnson & Co. specialises in child abuse compensation claims. Malcolm Johnson is one of the authors of the leading textbook in this field “Child Abuse Compensation Claims” published by the author and he lectures regularly for the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers.

Child abuse compensation claims are complex. They frequently involve difficult questions of limitation, negligence, causation and quantum. Over the years, the court have dealt with each of these issues and handed down judgments that have, to some extent, clarified the law in this area.

Some of the cases in this Database do not involve child abuse compensaton claims, but they relate instead to issues of vicarious liability and limitation. These cases have been included because they relate to issues that impact on child abuse cases.

The Caselaw Database was set up to provide a detailed summary of each of these judgments. It has two main purposes:-

  • The Database aims to provide practitioners with a series of signposts to the relevant cases and an overview of what the court is saying in each case.
  • The Database aims to ensure that the staff of Malcolm Johnson & Co. knows the relevant law in this area and that our clients can rely on our expertise.

There is no charge for using the Database, which is constantly being updated with new cases. Malcolm Johnson & Co. invites comments and suggestions from users, who should use the contact box to the right.
