Sex attack in Wadhurst

Get Surrey reports that a man from Lingfield has been arrested by police following a sex attack in Wadhurst last month. The man was arrested in Eastbourne on suspicion of being concerned in the assault that took place on Friday July 16.

Victims of such assaults may have a claim to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, a government body set up to compensate victims of crime. Alternatively they may have a civil claim against their assailant. It should never be assumed that such people have no assets. Finally a criminal court can make a compensation order against the assailant.
