Pope faces queries over child abuse

The BBC reports on how questions  are being raised about whether Pope Benedict was personally involved in covering up a case of child sex abuse by a Roman Catholic priest.

The questions relates to a priest in the United States, who was accused of abusing some 200 deaf boys. Apparently the allegations had been brought to the Vatican’s attention. Apparently the US  authorities had investigated but had not made any prosecution.
