Man gaoled for serious sexual assault in Manchester
The BBC reports that a 51 year old man has been gaoled for nine years for a serious sexual assault on a child in Greater Manchester. The man was found guilty after a trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court. The offences took place between 2007 and 2009 in Sale and the man has been ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
The victim would have a claim to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority for compensation as well as a claim against the assailant, although from the report it seems unlikely that the man would have any assets to pay a judgment.
