Children in long term care need more help
BBC News reports that children in long-term care need to get more help to reach their full potential. The Audit Scotland study said that local authorities and other government organisations dealing with children in care required a clearer focus on long-term needs. Outcomes for children in care have long been a concern, since as a whole they perform less well in education and adulthood than those brought up by their own families. This is hardly suprising since the circumstances in which a child comes into the care system are nothing less than damaging to that child.
