Child abuse linked to heart diseases
CNN Health reports that adults who were physically abused during childhood are more likely later to develop heart disease. The statistics come from from the journal “Child Abuse and Neglect”.
The long term effects of child abuse are many and varied. Survivors report a range of problems from eating disorders and addictions, to symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder and other forms of mental illness. Not all victims however report serious adverse effects.
