Two arrested after injuries found to baby
The BBC reports that two teenagers have been arrested following the discovery of serious injuries to a young baby. Hospital staff called the police following the admission of the child to the Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Hospitals are very often in the front line in child protection. All doctors and nurses are under a duty to report possible child abuse, but this can give rise to serious legal problems when their suspicions turn out to be unfounded.
