BBC News reports on a case of a mother sexually abusing her son and discussed the problem of female abusers.
Abuse of a child by any adult is a crime. Cases of sexual abuse by women do come up in the civil and criminal courts. Regrettably the example of the female teachers who has intercourse with a teenage pupil is not always seen as serious, although in the long term it can have devastating effects for the child.
