Elderly paedophile given Viagra on the NHS

August 20th, 2009 by Malcolm

20th August 2009

The Mail Online reports that a child abuser with a 30 year history of assaulting children is prescribed Viagra. Apparently his last assault was on an 11 year old girl last year.

This case demonstrates the length of time that a paedophile can continue to be a risk to children. Malcolm Johnson has dealt with one case, involving a police investigation into a children’s home in 1976. We made an application to the court for the criminal records for two men, who had worked at the home.

The Police National Computer (“PNC”) printout for the first man showed a conviction for multiple sexual assaults in 1973 (shortly before he came to work in the care home). The PNC printout for the second man showed multiple offences for theft going back to 1938 and sexual assaults going back to 1948 as well as the 1976 offences. The man’s final conviction was in 1990.
